Mauro Icardi shortlisted by nine clubs following Galatasaray exit
Mauro Icardi is considering his next move after leaving Galatasaray, with nine clubs reportedly interested in signing the former striker.
TyC Sports reports that seven European sides are monitoring the 33-year-old Argentine, including Tottenham and Everton.
Icardi is also on the recruitment lists of PAOK, Elche, Betis, Besiktas and Benfica, giving him a range of potential destinations across Europe.
Interest extends beyond the continent, with Brazilian clubs Atletico Mineiro and Sao Paulo also following his situation. Both sides are understood to be considering the possibility of bringing Icardi into their squads.
Icardi left Galatasaray last summer after a spell in which he became a regular presence in the Turkish club’s attack. During the previous season, he made 47 appearances, scoring 16 goals and providing three assists.
The former Galatasaray forward is now looking for a new club, with Tottenham, Everton, PAOK, Elche, Betis, Besiktas, Benfica, Atletico Mineiro and Sao Paulo all linked with him.
