Matteo Darmian close to Bologna move after leaving Inter

Former Inter defender Matteo Darmian is close to joining fellow Serie A club Bologna as a free agent.

Journalist Nicolo Schira reports that Bologna will sign the 36-year-old on a short-term contract running until the end of the 2026/2027 season.

Bologna have made a difficult start to the new Serie A campaign. After five matches, they have collected only two points and sit 18th in the table.

Their next league fixture is away to Lecce on 11 October.
