Maresca backs Foden to return to England squad

Manchester City manager Enzo Maresca has promised to help Phil Foden return to the England squad after the midfielder was left out of the team for their November Nations League fixtures.

“He will return,” Maresca said of Foden’s international prospects.

Foden was not included in England’s squad for the Nations League matches against Croatia and Spain. The games will be played on 12 and 15 November respectively.

The midfielder has scored one goal and provided two assists in seven Premier League appearances for Manchester City this season.

He has also scored three goals and recorded one assist in three Champions League matches.
