Manchester United still undecided over Michael Carrick replacement
Manchester United have yet to decide who should replace head coach Michael Carrick, with the club’s senior figures divided over several potential candidates.
Former Newcastle manager Eddie Howe had previously been reported as the leading contender to take charge of the Red Devils. However, The Independent says Howe’s appointment does not have unanimous support within the club.
There is also no clear consensus among Manchester United’s hierarchy over the other names under consideration, including Julian Nagelsmann and Fabian Hurzeler.
Carrick’s position has come under less immediate pressure after Manchester United’s Champions League victory over Roma. The result has given the club’s leadership more time and means they are not rushing to make a change in the dugout.
Manchester United are 17th in the Premier League after nine matches, with seven points.
