Bruno Fernandes will remain Manchester United captain despite criticising the coaching staff following the 4-1 defeat by Como in the Champions League.
The Portugal international questioned Michael Carrick’s tactical decisions after the match, prompting disappointment within the club.
However, Manchester United have decided not to remove Fernandes from the captaincy. Journalist Rob Dorsett reported on social media that the midfielder is also unlikely to escape further disciplinary action.
The club understands Fernandes’ frustration in view of the result, although it was unhappy with the public nature of his comments.
Manchester United’s next match is against Bournemouth in the Premier League on 25 October.
