Manchester United consider Serhou Guirassy as January attacking option

Manchester United are monitoring Borussia Dortmund striker Serhou Guirassy ahead of the January transfer window, with the Guinea international once again appearing on the club’s recruitment shortlist.

According to Topskills Sports UK, United’s directors are assessing attacking options and could make a move for the 30-year-old when the market reopens. The club has tracked Guirassy for several years and previously examined his profile in 2023.

Guirassy’s performances since joining Dortmund have strengthened his case. The striker has scored 64 goals and provided 17 assists in 102 appearances for the German club since his arrival in 2024. He has also been praised by Fode Mansare for his displays.

United could view Guirassy as an experienced addition to their forward line if Joshua Zirkzee leaves during the next transfer window. The potential move would give the Premier League club another established goalscorer, although Dortmund are not expected to make negotiations straightforward.

Guirassy has made an impressive start to the 2026/27 season, recording four goals and two assists in his first six appearances. His contract with Dortmund runs until June 2028, while Transfermarkt values him at 32 million euros.

Despite that valuation, Dortmund are reluctant to weaken their squad. Guirassy has become an important part of the club’s sporting plans, meaning United may face significant difficulty if they decide to pursue the striker in January.

The German side are preparing for their next Bundesliga fixture, a fifth-round meeting with Werder Bremen.
