The battle for Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen's coveted signature has intensified, with Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain emerging as frontrunners, Nigeriasoccernet.com gathers.

While Chelsea and Arsenal have also expressed interest in the Napoli forward, it's Manchester United and PSG who are now positioned most favorably to secure his services, as per The Independent's latest update.

Manchester United's financial strength has been bolstered by the arrival of Sir Jim Ratcliffe as a co-owner, giving them greater spending power in the transfer market.

Meanwhile, PSG sees Osimhen as a potential replacement for Kylian Mbappe, who is expected to depart the club this summer.

Osimhen's contract includes a release clause ranging from $120m to $130m, adding further intrigue to his potential transfer saga.

The Nigeria international has scored 11 goals in his 15 league appearances.
