Mali face Guinea at 16:00 in the final Group B match of the UFOA A U17 tournament, with the two sides approaching the derby from very different positions.

The encounter brings the group stage to a conclusion, but the pressure is firmly on Guinea. The Syli National cadet have yet to collect a point and must win if they are to salvage their campaign.

Guinea’s task will be particularly difficult against a Mali side regarded as a historically formidable opponent at this age level. With no margin for error, the Guinean players will have to respond under intense pressure if they are to produce the result they need.

The Aiglons of Mali, meanwhile, have one point after drawing with group leaders Liberia. They will be looking to build on that performance, underline their status and secure their place in the final four.

Solid and opportunistic so far, Mali start the match as clear favourites. The decisive question is whether Guinea can find the resources to upset the odds, or whether Mali will complete the group stage without alarm.
