Ghana attacker Mahatma Otoo's hopes of winning the Norwegian Cup has evaporated after his Sogndal IF side crashed out the competition after losing against Hønefoss.

This means the former Hearts of Oak star will now have to focus his full attention on securing promotion back to the Norwegian top-flight with Sogndal.

Otoo was in full time action for Sogndal as they slipped to a 2-1 loss against fellow Division One side Hønefoss.

Fellow Ghanaian pair of Mohammed Abu and Bismark Adjei-Boateng have also been kicked out with Stromsgodset who also suffered a painful elimination after losing on penalties to third-tier side Kvik Halden.

Otoo was not included in the Ghana squad for the 2017 AFCON qualifier against Mauritius.
