Norway-based attacker Mahatma Otoo insists he is not surprised by his late call-up into the Ghana squad for the 2015 AFCON tournament.

The 22-year-old ex-Hearts of Oak man was not initially part of 31-man squad named by Ghana coach Avram Grant but trained with the squad in Ghana before he left out of the final 26-man squad that tripped to Spain last weekend.

However, with Majeed Waris failing to show up, Otoo was handed a late call-up as his replacement and this does not surprise him at all.

"I am not all that surprised because I never stopped believing that I will get a chance with this AFCON squad. When I was invited to train with the team I knew I had to do all I could to impress, because who knows what might happen and thankfully, I have been selected," he told Sports Crusader.

Otoo is capped just once at senior level by Ghana but he led the U23 side - Black Meteors, as captain, when they won the All African Games ultimate in 2011.
