Ghanaian international winger Ernest Asante scored his eighth goal of the season with a splendid opener for Stabaek in their 2-0 triumph over Valerenga in the Norwegian top-flight league on Saturday.

Asante, 26, fired Bob Bradley's side ahead as early as the 11th minute following a brilliant footwork by Norwegian international Muhamed Keita.

The former Manchester United triallist had not scored in his last three games for Stabaek after striking the winner against Stromsgodset in late June.

But he took his determination to the pitch as he powered his side into the lead and involving in the sequence of play that brought about the second goal scored by Ivorian Luc Kassi.

While he was shining in the game, his Ghanaian compatriot Kamal Issah was also playing the entire minutes of the game for Stabaek.
