Madiba FC of Oshodi have emerged winners of the 2021/2022 National League One (NLO) title after edging Malantarki Care FC in the final of NLO Super 8 at the Legacy Pitch, Surulere, Lagos on Saturday.

The Lagos base side won by a goal to nil courtesy of a Rabiu Nurudeen's strike in the 28th minutes of the encounter to conquer the team from Gombe.

The two sides had topped their respective groups prior to the final with Madiba going unbeaten with seven points while Mailantaki Care garnered six points displacing FC Ebedei on goal difference.

Hence, it was anticipated to be a mouthwatering final and it did give the fans some good plays.

The Oshodi based side who had been called favourite showed their pedigree as they controlled the tempo of the game from the start.

And this was rewarded with a goal by Nurudeen who beat an offside trap to get the ball over the head of Malantarki Care's goalkeeper, Edward Ameh.

Malantarki Care responded as expected, but the momentum gathered by the team yielded no result as the first half ended 1-0.

The second was largely controlled by Madiba and thanks to the saves of Ameh, the scores would have been more than that.

Malantarki Care did try to equal score, but the winning side held to the win at the end of regulation time.
