Luis Enrique asks PSG to explore Barcelona midfielder Gavi transfer

Paris Saint-Germain manager Luis Enrique has asked the club’s hierarchy to contact Barcelona to investigate the possibility of signing midfielder Gavi.

According to El Nacional, Luis Enrique admires the 22-year-old’s intensity, aggressive pressing and character. The manager believes those qualities would make Gavi an ideal fit for PSG’s style of play.

Barcelona do not want to part with Gavi, but the club reportedly recognises that keeping a player of his profile on the substitutes’ bench could create difficulties.

Gavi has not been given significant playing time this season. He remained an unused substitute for the full 90 minutes in each of Barcelona’s two most recent La Liga matches, with competition for places in midfield proving intense.

The potential transfer fee for Gavi could be around 40 million euros.
