Lookman defends penalty decision amid Gasperini criticism
Nigerian forward, Ademola Lookman has revealed that he was given permission by Atalanta's designated penalty taker to take the spot-kick in their 3-1 Champions League defeat to Club Brugge, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.
Lookman, who scored immediately after the restart, saw his penalty saved by Simon Mignolet and was subsequently criticised by manager Gian Piero Gasperini.
However, in a statement released on social media, Lookman claimed that he was given the green light to take the penalty by his teammates, contradicting Gasperini's assertion that he had not been designated to take the kick.

The controversy has sparked debate, with many questioning Gasperini's criticism of Lookman's penalty-taking abilities.
Lookman meanwhile has taken six penalties for La Dea, scoring four in the process.
