Lobi Stars striker, Elijah Ani has said his team is deserved of the praise for the club’s performance in their 1-1 draw against Dakkada on Saturday in the Nigeria Professional Football League, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

Dakkada’s second half substitute Akinlade Lanre gave his side the lead with a clinical header but Ani from the spot ensured Lobi Stars got a crucial point which propelled the Markudi boys into the Super Six.

The former Rangers forward said the players showed an outstanding determination in the game.

“I really want to commend my teammates for the victory. Their determination and never say die spirit gave us this victory,” Ani stated as per Daily Post.

“Despite the strong performance from our host, we still stood our ground to achieve something from the game.

“I’m excited that we were able to score and defend till the end. We always go with the aim of scoring many goals but we just take the point as it is,” he added.

Lobi Stars maintained top spot on the Group B table with 30 points.
