"?Liverpool are preparing a bid for Borussia Monchengladbach star Mahmoud Dahoud after long being linked with the player.

According to "?Express, Jurgen Klopp is ready to bring the young German to Anfield in January after a scouting mission in the Bundesliga.

Dahoud burst onto the scene last season after some fine performances for his club and it was reported that Klopp sent scouts to watch him play in Manchester City's 4-0 win over Gladbach in the Champions League.

Now a German newspaper is claiming that Klopp has seen enough and Liverpool are ready to bid £26m to acquire the services of the 20-year-old.

Apparently, £26m will be enough to convince his club to part ways with the talented youngster who is also a regular for the Germany Under-21s.

This comes after numerous failed attempts to tie Dahoud down to a new long-term contract at the club, to ward off interest parties.

However, the player is said to be considering his options as he rejected the chance to extend his stay at the Stadion Borussia Park and is likely to keep his current deal which ends in June 2018.

Dahoud has only made four Bundesliga appearances this season after falling out of favour with manager Andre Schubert.

It has been reported that the reason for his lack of playing time is because of his contract situation, but the Gladbach boss has denied these rumours and has said it is down to 'fatigue' and a 'thigh strain'.

Since being promoted to the senior squad, Dahoud has made 54 appearances, scoring five goals and providing 11 assist.
