Liverpool forward Hugo Ekitike targeting December return from Achilles injury

Liverpool forward Hugo Ekitike is aiming to return to action in December as he continues his recovery from a serious Achilles injury, according to The Touchline.

The France international suffered a ruptured Achilles in April 2026 during the second leg of Liverpool’s UEFA Champions League tie against Paris Saint-Germain, which ended in a 2-0 defeat.

The injury ruled Ekitike out of the World Cup in North America.

Liverpool have nevertheless included the 2025 signing in their UEFA Champions League squad despite the severity of his injury.

Ekitike joined Liverpool in summer 2025 after moving from Eintracht Frankfurt.
