Liverpool coach Rodgers eyes Ghana star Andre Ayew as replacement for Steven Gerrard
Liverpool coach Brendan Rodgers eyeing up a replacement for Steven Gerrard with Ghana playmaker Andre Ayew seen as the right player to replace the legend who play his last match for the English giants this weekend.
The English media are reporting that Liverpool will bid for the creative Marseille midfielder Ayew when the summer transfer window opens.
Brendan Rodgers reportedly believes that the midfielder would be the ideal replacement for Steven Gerrard who will play his last match for the club this weekend.
The Ghanaian is also a target for Arsenal and Manchester United.
Ayew is expect to leave Marseille this summer after the club admitted they can't afford to keep him.
Club president Vincent Labrune said: “We can’t keep Ayew.
"He is a very important player for OM but we can’t offer him the kind of money that English clubs can offer.
“The French financial system is complicated and we can’t offering him an equivalent salary to what he can earn in England."
