ANN ARBOR -- Liverpool have accepted a bid worth £3.5 million from Rosenborg for Pedro Chirivella, a source has told ESPN FC.
Chirivella is set to travel to Norway in the next few days to complete the deal, having just returned home from Liverpool's preseason tour of the U.S.
Rosenborg will pay an initial £2.4m fee and potentially a further £1.1m in bonuses for the 21-year-old.
The source said Liverpool have insisted on inserting a buy-back clause for the first three seasons of the Spaniard's time at Rosenborg.
Former Liverpool defender Stig Inge Bjornebye is sporting director at Rosenborg and believes the club's fluent style of play will suit Chirivella.
Chirivella moved to Liverpool from Valencia in 2013 and has gone on to make five competitive first-team appearances for the Reds since.
