Nigeria winger Moses Simon has been voted Nantes' Player of the Month for August, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

The 28-year-old scored twice in three league appearances for the Canaries, impressing fans with his performances.

His goals came in his club’s 3-1 win over Montpellier and 2-0 win over Auxerre both which were openers.

Simon secured 43% of the votes to win the award, edging out goalkeeper Alban Lafont, forward Matthis Abline, and midfielder Nathan Zézé.

The Nigerian international will receive his award before Nantes' upcoming league match against Stade de Reims.

Simon is currently away on international duty with Nigeria, but will return to his club duties after the break.

His impressive start to the season has set the tone for what promises to be an exciting campaign for Nantes after his injury hampered campaign last season.
