Eduardo Camavinga is set to quit Rennes before the transfer market closes, according to reports in France. The 18-year-old Frenchman has entered the final year of his current deal with Rennes and has failed to reach a total agreement over a new contract with the French club.
The Red Devils have expressed an interest in landing Camavinga this summer and made an approach to the star’s agent, Jonathan Barnett, about a potential deal this summer.
Thomas Tuchel’s side are also understood to have been watching Camavinga’s situation and the Blues senior member Petr Cech could use his strong relationship with his former club to his advantage.
Paris Saint-Germain are also in the transfer hunt for Camavinga having tracked the midfielder’s sharp rise in Ligue 1. Reall Madrid in the mix too even after Zinedine Zidane’s departure as the French World Cup winner was a big admirer of Camavinga.
According to Ouest-France, Eduardo has made Rennes’ fans aware that he has already played his final match for the club. And reports from L’Equipe, Les Rouge et Noir would be prepared to sell if their €30 million (£25.5 million) asking price is met.
