Le Minh Binh steers Vietnam to three points
Hsinchu: Vietnam found their scoring boots in the second half to kickoff their AFC U-19 Championship 2018 Qualifiers with a 2-0 win over Macau at the Hsinchu County Second Stadium in Chinese Taipei on Saturday.
Le Minh Binh was Vietnam's hero, scoring a brace and the win is a perfect start for the Southeast Asian side as they seek an automatic spot in next year's Finals in Indonesia.
The first half was a cagey affair as Vietnam, despite controlling proceedings, found the Macau defence a hard nut to crack.
Le, however, made amends for his team's first half misses when he struck Vietnam's opener in the 58th minute.
He doubled Vietnam's lead eight minutes later to ensure three points.
Up next for Vietnam are hosts Chinese Taipei on Monday while Macau will face Laos.
