Lazio continued their outstanding opening to the Serie A season with a 3-0 victory at Juventus, as Gennaro Gattuso became the first manager in the club’s history to win six of his first seven league matches.

Goals from Danish pair Oliver Provstgaard and Gustav Isaksen, followed by a late strike from Fisayo Dele-Bashiru, secured a fourth successive away league victory for the Biancocelesti.

The result leaves Lazio unbeaten and back in second place, level on points with leaders Inter Milan. It also represents their first league win at Juventus since 2017.

Juventus manager Luciano Spalletti watched from the stands while serving a one-match touchline suspension after being sent off against Cagliari last Sunday. His assistant, Marco Domenichini, took charge of the technical area.

The hosts struggled to match Lazio’s intensity for long periods, although Randal Kolo Muani briefly appeared to have put Juventus ahead in the 24th minute. The in-form striker volleyed into the net, but the goal was ruled out for offside.

Isaksen, who had also scored in Lazio’s previous league match, registered the visitors’ first clear opportunity when he headed wide from the edge of the area shortly before the half-hour mark.

Lazio took the lead eight minutes before the interval. Mattia Zaccagni delivered a cross into the six-yard area, and Provstgaard headed home from six yards for his first goal for the club.

Nuno Tavares came close to extending the advantage six minutes later. His effort from outside the box took a deflection off Gleison Bremer and looped over the goalkeeper before landing on the top of the crossbar.

Lazio’s clean sheet in the opening 45 minutes continued their impressive defensive record. Before this round of fixtures, they were one of only two Serie A sides yet to concede before half-time.

Juventus made an attacking change at the break, with Nick Woltemade replacing Kerim Alajbegovic. The substitute was presented with a good opportunity 10 minutes into the second half but dragged his effort wide.

That miss was punished midway through the half. Isaksen cut inside before curling a shot into the net, scoring his second goal at Allianz Stadium in as many seasons.

Kolo Muani headed over as Juventus searched for a response, but Lazio added a third in the closing stages. Dele-Bashiru raced through on goal and finished low past Guglielmo Vicario for his first goal of the campaign.

The defeat extends Juventus’ poor run to one win in five matches, with two draws and two defeats during that sequence. It also ends their unbeaten home start and leaves Spalletti’s side eighth in the table.

Oliver Provstgaard was named Flashscore Man of the Match.
