Serie A side Lazio are plotting their summer transfer strategy, with midfield reinforcements a top priority. Luis Alberto and Daichi Kamada are expected to depart, opening the door for new arrivals. One name high on Lazio's list is Fisayo Dele-Bashiru, a 23-year-old Nigerian midfielder currently flourishing in Turkey, Nigeriasoccernet.com gathered.

Dele-Bashiru impressed after leaving Sheffield Wednesday last year. He notched up 15 goals and assists for Hatayspor, playing a pivotal role in their fight for Super Lig survival. His performances even earned him his Nigeria debut in October.

However, his stay at Hatayspor appears to be nearing its end. Hatayspor manager Özhan Pulat has hinted at a potential transfer, with Lazio reportedly making an offer to secure his services for the 2024/25 season.

Dele-Bashiru, currently on international duty with Nigeria for their World Cup qualifiers against South Africa and Benin, remains focused on the national team.

"For now I'm only focused on my national team's next commitments," he told Punch Sports Extra.

"After playing these matches, also hoping to win, I will talk to my agent and we'll deal with my future and the market rumours".

Italian reports suggest Lazio might need to shell out around €6 million (including bonuses) to land their target. Dele-Bashiru made 86 appearances for Sheffield Wednesday before leaving for Turkey, his last game being the promotion-clinching victory at Wembley.

Will Dele-Bashiru become Lazio's new midfield maestro? Only time will tell, but with his impressive form and international recognition, he could be a valuable addition to their squad.
