Coventry manager Frank Lampard expressed his support for VAR after the technology helped his side secure a 1-0 victory against Nottingham Forest in the fifth round of the Premier League season.
Jay Dasilva scored the decisive goal late in the match, giving Coventry their first win of the campaign.
Nottingham Forest appeared to have equalised in the closing stages when Igor Jesus found the net. However, the goal was ruled out following a VAR review, which identified a foul on Caleb Yirenkyi.
The decision preserved Coventry’s lead and ended Forest’s hopes of taking a point from the game. Lampard backed the intervention, reflecting his view that VAR had made the correct call.
The result lifted Coventry to 18th place in the league table.
