The Western Conference leaders are in Denver on Friday as LAFC play the bottom club, the Colorado Rapids, at the Dick's Sporting Goods Park.

LAFC, 2/1 to win the MLS Cup, are unbeaten in their last 10 games in all competitions and have scored at least three goals in their last four matches.

It's been four weeks since LAFC played an MLS game, when they defeated the Timbers in Portland, and since then they have knocked out Real Salt Lake and the San Jose Earthquakes from the US Open Cup.

Carlos Vela is the league's top-scorer with 16 goals in 16 games, five ahead of Zlatan Ibrahimovic of the LA Galaxy. Vela has been on target in seven consecutive games, scoring a single goal in each.

The former Arsenal and Real Sociedad star will no doubt fancy his chances against a Colorado defence that have conceded more goals than any other this season.

Meanwhile, in the Eastern Conference, there is a mid-table clash between the New York Red Bulls and the Chicago Fire. The Red Bulls are currently fifth in the Conference behind the Philadelphia Union, Montreal Impact, DC United and Atlanta United while the Fire sit one place out of the potential post-season places behind Toronto FC.

Bounced out of the US Open Cup by the New England Revolution, the Red Bulls have lost two games in a row as they have also been beaten by the Union in MLS. Chicago were also bundled out of the Cup by USL side Saint Louis FC before drawing against Real Salt Lake.
