Kylian Mbappe believes his chances of winning the 2026 Ballon d’Or have been weakened by what he sees as insufficient support from Real Madrid, according to journalist Ivan Martin on social media.

The Real Madrid forward is reportedly dissatisfied with the way the club has promoted his candidacy in the media. Mbappe had also expected public backing from former Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane, but has not received any statements from him in support of his bid.

The 2026 Ballon d’Or ceremony is scheduled to take place on Monday, 26 October, in London.

Barcelona midfielder Lamine Yamal has previously been identified as the leading favourite to win the award.
