Nigeria Premier Football League side, Kwara United were able to survive the scare of being knocked after beating Gateway United in the Nigeria Federation Cup round of 64, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

The tie had ended 1-1 in which the Afonja Warriors had to comeback to level score and win 4-2 on penalties  at the Lekan Salami Stadium, Ibadan on Thursday.

Olajide Mustapha struck the ball from the edge of the box which beat the goalkeeper to hand the Abeokuta side the lead in the 47th before Samad Kadri restored parity in the 72 minute.

At the penalties, Kwara scored four and lost while Gateway scored two and lost two to crash out while the Harmony Boys progress to the FA Cup round of 32.
