Genk Sports Director, Dimitri De Conde who earlier revealed that the club will miss the prolific goal scorer Paul Onuachu has claimed that his replacement, Tolu Arokodare is ready for the task ahead. Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

Onuachu, after moving to the Belgian team in 2019 scored 84 goals in 134 matches for the Smurfs.

The striker, this season has recorded a total of 16 goals in 19 league appearances but left for Southampton in the last day of the winter transfer window for a deal worth about €21m.

Despite leaving a big void in the attack, Dimitri De Conde believes his replacement, Arokodare is already showing  flashes of a capable replacement.

“Despite his length, he is very agile, fast in the first meters and strong with his head,” he said via the club’s official website.

“He is already showing flashes of his class today. In addition, there is a lot of stretch to it. Under the wings of our technical staff, he is going to be able to make big steps forward in the coming years. We have proven with several other young talents that KRC Genk is the ideal environment for that.”

Arokodare has bagged 22 goals with 4 assists in 34 league appearances while almost tallying the same in Amiens with 21 goals and 4 assists. Dare Ogun
