Asante Kotoko are sweating over the fitness of striker Ahmed Toure ahead of their Premier League clash with rivals Hearts of Oak on Sunday.

Toure has been out of action for the champions in recent matches after suffering a bout of malaria.

Kotoko in Toure’s absence have struggled to score goals to show clearly his importance to the side.

Efforts are thus being made to help the Burkinabe striker regain an appreciable level of fitness in order for him to play in the weekend’s big game against Hearts.

“Ahmed Toure is down with malaria but we hope for him to be fit for Sunday’s game against Hearts,” Kotoko’s spokesman Kweku Ahenkora said.

Kotoko are desperate to be at full strength by the time they face Hearts on Sunday.
