Klopp won't sell Mignolet
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is adamant that he will not be allowing Belgium international goalkeeper Simon Mignolet to leave the club this summer.
The 31-year-old former Sunderland shot-stopper lost his place to Alisson last season and has spoken of his desire to leave Anfield and gain more first-team opportunities elsewhere.
Mignolet has featured in 204 games for the Reds and still has two years left on his contract with last term's Premier League runners-up and Champions League winners.
Klopp said: "I have had a lot of conversations (with Simon Mignolet) in the last couple of years, months - not weeks. Before we left (for the summer break) we had talks. I would say yes (he stays).
"At a club like Liverpool you need two number ones in the club and we have that with Ali and Simon.
"It is a good situation for the club and a situation you should have and that is why everything is fine from my point of view."
Meanwhile, former Preston goalkeeper Andy Lonergan, who was released by Middlesbrough at the end of last term, has been brought in for the club's pre-season tour of the United States which begins on Tuesday.
Liverpool are 9/4 to win the Premier League title in 2019/20 and 1/7 to win their first game of the season on 9th August against newly-promoted Norwich City.
