Liverpool head coach Jurgen Klopp says he and his players are highly motivated to push for further honours, having secured Champions League glory last season.

The Reds defeated Tottenham Hotspur 2-0 to be crowned champions of Europe for the sixth time, but Klopp believes that that success has to be seen as something to enjoy, but to move on from as they go in search of further silverware.

The German told his club's official website: "It's not about being finally satisfied, happy or done with our careers because we won the Champions League, there is so much to go for.

Jurgen Klopp

"It was very special, so you cannot forget it. It's something for the future when you look back on a career and nobody can take that away from you.

"But while you are in your career, as we all are, you have to use it as the next basis and to start new for the season because it's a completely different season."

As well as winning the Champions League last season, the Merseysiders also finished in the second place in the Premier League - ending up just a point behind Manchester City.

Liverpool were last crowned champions of England in 1990, when they claimed an 18th title by finishing nine points clear of second-placed Aston Villa.

They are priced at 9/4 to win the Premier League title next season, while Liverpool are available at 7/1 to retain their Champions League crown.
