Kenedy eyeing Blues progress
Chelsea's Kenedy says he is determined to use his loan experience at Newcastle United to help work his way into Frank Lampard's plans this season.
The Brazilian found himself down the pecking order at Stamford Bridge before going on to enjoy a season-long loan working under Rafael Benitez at Newcastle last term.
Now eager to kick on with the Blues, Kenedy has talked up his time at St James Park and hopes it can lead to the start of exciting times at Chelsea.
"I learned a lot from my time there," Kenedy told Chelsea's official website about his spell with the Magpies. "I was very happy with the amount I played. It was a great experience for me, so I must say thanks to the club and the manager.
"Now I have to start again here at Chelsea and work hard, step by step. My hope now is to do a great season here at Chelsea. That is my dream."
Kenedy, who has been one of Lampard's most utilised players during pre-season, says he hopes to feature in a more advanced role in the coming campaign.
He added: "I am very happy with the amount of minutes I played in Japan.
"It was a great experience. I am really pleased for the opportunity the manager is giving me and the amount I have been playing in pre-season.
"When I was at Chelsea before I played a lot as a left-back but now I have been playing further forward. My past experiences as a left-back have helped me be a better player now."
Chelsea are 33/1 to win the Premier League this season.
