Juventus have offered ex-Parma striker Alberto Cerri as part of the deal to sign Ghana youth international Godfred Donsah from Italian rivals Cagliari.

The 19-year-old Ghanaian midfielder made quite a splash in his debut Serie A season, but could not prevent their relegation.

Cagliari confirm talks with Juventus and Chelsea for Donsah but have offered a player-plus-cash deal.

“It’s a paid loan, because we cannot accept a dry loan. Cerri is a good player and if our Coach needs him in our time then we’ll try to conclude the operation positively.”

Donsah's agent Olivier Arthur said “Cagliari have just rejected a €6m offer for him, a sign they have no intention of selling.”

Today Sardinian President Tommaso Giulini held a Press conference and was asked about Donsah.

“We had a chat a few weeks ago with Juventus and Chelsea, but I am stunned by all these rumours around him. The lad needs to grow up with us.

“We have many other players on low wages and their contracts will be renewed at the right time, including Donsah’s.

“We received a request to attend a meeting via a lawyer, but I am accustomed to doing things a different way. As soon as the right moment comes, we’ll be happy to renew his contract.”
