Eight days after he received his October player of the month trophy in Ligue 2 BKT, Josh Maja scored his 8th goal of the season in FC Girondins de Bordeaux 2-1 win over FC Sochaux-Montbellard.

The striker who turned 24 years old in Tuesday scored Bordeaux's first goal in what proved to be crucial in the league standings on Friday.

Josh Maja found the net in the 30th minute after Nsimba found the Nigerian who connected the ball to the net to give his side the victory momentum.

Davitashvili made it two in a minute as Bakwa perfectly served the Georgian international who opened his foot and beat Prévot.

The first half ended with the two nil lead as Bordeaux went to the tunnel the happier side.

However, Sochaux got themselves into the game with glimpses of hope to get something out of the match after Kanouté scored with a volley from the right in the 59th minute.

Bordeaux maintained their lead and saw out the game despite a red card to Delaurier-Chaubet in the 74th minute of the game.
