Premier League side Southampton have revealed that their Caraba Cup fourth-round tie against Lincoln City at the St Mary’s will now take place on Tuesday 20th December, 24 hours earlier than originally scheduled.

According to their official website, the club brought forward the fixture “due to planned strike action by crucial medical services on Wednesday 21st December.”

A number of solutions were carefully considered, but it was decided that this was the only suitable outcome to maintain the level of safety required for the match to take place.

Super Eagles midfielder Joe Aribo and his club-mates will now have a day less to prepare for what should be an easy tie against Lincoln City.
