Joe Aribo asked to be dropped for Algeria match
According to reports reaching Nigeria soccernet, Super Eagles midfielder, Joe Aribo was not left out of the team for Algeria, but asked to be left out.
The 26-year-old has been in good shape since joining his new club, Southampton and many expected him to be called up.
Besides, he has been a regular for the team since his 2019 debut.
However, revelation has to why he was not on coach Jose Peseiro's list has emerged.
"Aribo is very much part of Jose Peseiro’s plans,” a Super Eagles official told SCORE Nigeria.
“He was not dropped for the matches against Algeria, the player asked to be excused for him to take some rest after his recent transfer to the Premier League in England.”
The Super Eagles of Nigeria will on the 27th of September play against the Desert Foxes of Algeria in an International friendly at the Miloud Hadefi Stadium, Oran.
