James Milner's first-half penalty and a late Sadio Mane strike gave Liverpool a 2-0 victory over 10-man Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Monday.
Liverpool passed their first test away from Anfield this season to go level on points with five others at the top of the table.
Though Liverpool controlled the early stages, Jurgen Klopp's men had a scare when Andros Townsend hit the bar with a speculative left-footed shot from distance in the 23rd minute.
But Mohamed Salah drew a penalty for Liverpool just before half-time after getting tripped by former Reds defender Mamadou Sahko.
Milner promptly converted from the spot to open his scoring account on the season and score the 49th of his Premier League career.

Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson was called upon to preserve the lead by tipping away Luka Milivojevic's free kick from the top corner in the 53rd minute.
Palace were reduced to 10 men when Aaron Wan-Bissaka was shown a red card in the 75th minute for clattering into the back of Salah, who was through on goal, and he exited the pitch to a standing ovation from the Palace fans.
Sadio Mane sealed the win for Liverpool by breaking away to score in the 93rd minute.
