Katsina United won in controversial circumstances during the game against CAF Champions League-chasing Remo Stars on Sunday in the NPFL.

It was a very shameful day for fans of the NPFL as Kastina United took all three points in the 34th minute of extra time as they won 3-2.

However an eyewitness, who spoke to Pulse Sports Nigeria in anonymity, detailed how the visitors escaped mob action in Kastina due to that 90+34-minute goal.

"When they (Remo Stars) equalised, both the full time and added time were up already,"

"The fans and officials encroached the pitch and it was getting messy. Remo Stars' camera was taking, shutting down the live stream. After so many back and forth, Katsina decided to restart the game while both the match commissioner and match officials promised them they would score."

"They (match officials) just had to manufacture the goal so everyone could leave unhurt, if not, it would have been bloody."

"The officials had a series of discussions with the Katsina United people, Remo wasn’t interested in the game anymore because of safety. Honestly, they would have been mobbed if they (Katsina) didn’t score."

"A Few of katsina players had to protect players in the dressing room, they also left in their team bus back to the hotel before leaving Katsina immediately. This is really bad."

The recent happenings in the NPFL is a really sad situation as it gives off a very bad image of our league to the rest of the world, hopefully all these come to an end soon and never occur again.
