Ghana striker Emmanuel Banahene is set for a lengthy spell on the sidelines after tearing a cruciate ligament on Saturday during a league match in Egypt.

Ismaily coach Terek Yehia announced his goal poacher picked up the injury as they suffered a 3-0 defeat against ENPPI.

He becomes the fourth Ismaily player to suffer a ligament injury this season after Hosni Abd Rabbo, Mahmoud Metwally and Mahmoud Aziz.

In the match, Banahene nearly scored when he found himself one-on-one with goalkeeper Abdel-Monsef but his effort hit the post.
