Inter plan to offer Hakan Calhanoglu a new contract on lower wages, with talks over the midfielder’s future continuing without urgency.

According to Goal, citing Tuttosport, the issue of Calhanoglu’s frequent muscle injuries has already been raised during negotiations. At the next round of discussions, the Nerazzurri are expected to propose a salary below his current €6.5m net per year.

The Milan club are considering a deal structured as either one year with the option of a further year, or a straightforward two-year contract.

Calhanoglu’s existing agreement with Inter runs until the end of the 2026/27 season. He has made 216 appearances for the club, scoring 52 goals and providing 39 assists.
