Just five weeks after joining Central Coast Mariners, winger Jai Ingham has moved on to hometown club Brisbane Roar.

Ingham signed for the Mariners on 21st June, on a two-year deal.

But the Gosford club released him to allow him to return to his first professional club where he is the 13th off-season signing by new coach Robbie Fowler.

The New Zealand international joined Brisbane in 2013 and scored 13 goals in 11 games in his first season in the National Youth League.

He made his senior debut in a win over Wellington Phoenix in January 2014 but didn't play another match for the Roar before leaving at the end of the 2014-15 season.

Ingham earned another shot at the A-League in 2016 when he was signed by Melbourne Victory, after a spell in the National Premier League Victoria with Hume City.

The Victory released him at the end of last season after he had played 52 times, and he was snapped up by Mariners coach Alen Stajcic.

The 25-year-old appeared in two pre-season games for Central Coast, scoring a brace in a 5-0 win over Northern NSW NPL club Charlestown City Blues last week.

Ingham said he was excited to be back with the Roar, adding: "It's an unbelievable opportunity, especially to play under Robbie Fowler. I think it's going to be a great year for Brisbane Roar.

"There's some very good players here which makes for healthy competition and makes the team environment strong. I'm excited to get out there, start training, getting amongst it and helping the boys."

Brisbane Roar are 16/1 to win the A-League Grand Final. The Roar are 25/1 to win the FFA Cup.
