Deportivo’s encouraging return to Spain’s top flight has suffered another setback, with forward Zakaria Eddahchouri requiring an operation on his hand.

The Netherlands international is expected to make a relatively swift return to football because the injury is not to his leg, according to derbyderbyderby.it, citing Spanish newspaper Marca.

Eddahchouri’s situation follows the loss of veteran striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who is expected to be sidelined for two months after picking up an injury.

Deportivo have taken 10 points from their opening seven matches since returning to the Spanish top flight and currently sit seventh in the league table.
