Why Everton do not need to sell Jarrad Branthwaite to Manchester United

Manchester United’s interest in Everton defender Jarrad Branthwaite remains, but a deal for the 24-year-old England international could prove difficult, according to Football Insider.

The report says Everton are in a comfortable financial position after the summer sale of Iliman Ndiaye to Manchester City and are under no immediate pressure to sell another key player.

That could make it harder for Manchester United to persuade Everton to part with Branthwaite, who continues to be monitored by the club.

Branthwaite has made five appearances for Everton in the current Premier League campaign, including all competitions, but has not registered a goal or assist.

The defender is valued at €40m by Transfermarkt.

Manchester United have previously shown interest in Branthwaite and have now renewed their focus on the Everton player. However, Everton’s improved financial position means the club can avoid a rushed decision over his future.
