Valencia sack Corberan and Gourlay amid major sporting overhaul
Valencia have dismissed coach Carlos Corberan and football CEO Ron Gourlay after a poor start to the season, with the club also announcing a restructuring of their sporting department.
The changes come after Friday’s defeat by Sevilla left Valencia bottom of the table with one point from a possible 15. They have scored once and conceded 10 goals during that run.
Director Lisandro Isei is also leaving, along with Hans Gillhaus, Andres Zamora and Malek Shafei, as Valencia begin a widespread reshaping of their football operations.
Corberan joined Valencia in December 2024 and guided them to survival after an exceptional second half of the season. Last season, his side also challenged for European places during the final stages of the league campaign.
He will be replaced on an interim basis by Valencia Mestalla coach Oscar Sanchez.
