Nine players have reported for Nigeria’s Super Falcons camp in Ikenne as preparations begin for their 2028 Olympic Games qualifying tie against Comoros.

Dynamo Brest forward Blessing Nkor is among the first arrivals, alongside Edo Queens players Tumininu Adeshina, Christiana Uzoma and Valentina Uroko.

Farida Abdulwahab, Joy Igbokwe, Fatimoh Solaty, Glory Edet and Sandra John have also joined the squad at the team’s base at AM2PM Hotel in Ijebu-Ode.

More players are expected to arrive on Monday (today), with interim head coach Augustine Eguavoen having selected 28 players for the second-round qualifying contest.

Comoros are scheduled to host the first leg on Friday, October 9, while Nigeria will be the designated home side for the return fixture on Tuesday, October 13.

However, both matches will take place at the Remo Stars Sports Stadium in Ikenne-Remo because Comoros do not have a CAF-approved venue for international matches.

The Super Falcons must win the tie on aggregate to reach the third round of the five-stage qualifying competition, which is scheduled to finish in December next year.
