Super Eagles set for closed training before Guinea-Bissau trip

The Super Eagles will complete a closed-door training session in Uyo on Sunday morning before travelling to Bissau for their 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying Matchday 2 meeting with Guinea-Bissau.

The session will be held at the practice pitch of the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, according to the team’s media officer, Promise Efoghe.

Head coach Eric Chelle and his squad are due to arrive at Victor Attah International Airport at 2pm. Their flight to Bissau is scheduled to depart at 3pm.

Nigeria began their qualifying campaign with a 2-1 victory over the Barea of Madagascar on Friday. The players then took part in a recovery session on Saturday night as preparations continued for Tuesday’s away fixture.

The match will be played at the Estadio Nacional 24 de Setembro in Bissau, with kick-off set for 5pm Nigerian time.

Guinea-Bissau lead Group L on goal difference after opening their campaign with a 2-0 victory against Tanzania. Nigeria are second in the group following their win over Madagascar.

Sunday’s training session will be the team’s final work in Nigeria before their departure for the encounter with Guinea-Bissau.
