Spain’s National Sports Council (CSD) may open proceedings over comments made by La Liga president and Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) vice-president Javier Tebas about Real Madrid, according to Marca.
Tebas compared statements broadcast on Real Madrid’s club television channel with the methods used by Joseph Goebbels. He later clarified that the comparison referred to propaganda techniques, rather than Nazi ideology or Real Madrid supporters.
Real Madrid subsequently called for Tebas to resign immediately over his remarks. The La Liga president responded by accusing the Madrid club of attempting to “destroy the national championship”.
