Remo Stars Stadium to Host Both Legs of Nigeria vs Comoros Olympic Qualifier
The Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne-Remo has been chosen to host both legs of Nigeria’s second-round 2028 Olympic women’s football qualifying tie against Comoros, NigeriaSoccernet.com reports.
The Super Falcons will welcome Comoros in the first leg on October 9 before returning to the same venue for the second leg on October 13 as Nigeria begins its campaign to secure a place at the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles.
The Nigeria Football Federation has confirmed the venue arrangement and expressed confidence that the 10-time African champions can secure a second consecutive Olympic qualification after featuring at the Paris 2024 Games.
Nigeria, one of the three highest-ranked teams in the qualifying competition, received a bye into the second round and will now face Comoros over two legs.
Comoros earned their place in the second round after recording a remarkable 30-0 aggregate victory over Sudan in the opening round.
The Super Falcons will now look to capitalise on home advantage in Ikenne, secure a positive result across the two matches and advance to the next stage of the Olympic qualification race.
