Rangers’ NPFL clash with Nasarawa United moved to Owerri

Enugu Rangers’ Nigeria Premier Football League match against Nasarawa United has been moved from Awka to the Dan Anyiam Stadium in Owerri, Imo State.

The matchday three fixture had originally been scheduled for the Awka Township Stadium in Anambra, but the venue is unavailable.

The change was confirmed by the NPFL organisers in a statement posted on their official X handle on Tuesday.

“Rangers International vs Nasarawa United has been moved to the Dan Anyiam Stadium, Owerri, due to the unavailability of the Awka Township Stadium. Date still remains Thursday, September 17, 2026,” the NPFL stated.

The fixture will therefore take place in Owerri on Thursday, September 17, 2026, with the date unchanged despite the venue switch.

The move means Rangers will have played their opening three league fixtures at three different grounds. Their matchday one game against Katsina United ended in a 1-1 draw at the MKO Abiola Stadium in Abeokuta, Ogun State.

The reigning Nigeria Premier Football League champions also used the Abeokuta venue for their CAF Champions League first-leg, first-round tie against Sobemap of Benin Republic.
